In a departure from tradition, the IEBC will use the Bomas of Kenya as the national tallying centre for the March 4 general election.
Previously, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre was the venue of choice for the defunct Electoral Commission of Kenya.
However, Bomas, a cultural centre in Lang'ata, Nairobi served the same purpose during the August 2010 referendum on the constitution.
"With less than five weeks to the March 4, 2013 General Elections, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has identified the Bomas of Kenya as the National Tallying Centre," IEBC corporate affairs manager Tabitha Mutemi said.
She said provisional results from all over the country will be screened and official results tallied and announced at Bomas, which is currently being spruced up for the event.
