Uganda: Mehta Boosts Cricket

The Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) received a boost of equipment from Mehta group of companies through their Lugazi sugar brand.

This comes as a result of the memorandum of understanding that the UCA signed with Mehta last year to help boost the game in Uganda according to Justine Ligyalingi, the CEO of UCA. Mehta handed over uniforms, training kits, kit bags, track suits and playing equipment (bats, shin guards, helmets and balls) to the UCA.

The timing of this event couldn't have been better according to Davis Arinaitwe, the national men's team captain - they are preparing for the ICC Africa T20 championships scheduled for February 23-28 in Kampala. The event was attended by both the men and women's national team cricket players and the National Council of Sports general secretary, Jasper Aligawesa.
