Egypt Denounces U.S. Embassy Blast in Ankara

Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr condemned a suicide attack on the US embassy in Ankara, Turkey, that occurred on Friday 01/02/2013, leaving one dead and dozens injured.

The minister extended condolences to Turkey over the attack and wished the injured speedy recovery. Terrorism must be handled firmly, Amr said.

According to media reports, a suicide bomber detonated explosives strapped to his body after entering an embassy gate, killing a Turkish security guard and himself.

The attacker was reportedly a member of a far-left group that is anti-US, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Washington.
