Kenya: Africa Magic Unveils Award Trophy in Nairobi

On Wednesday night, the trophy for the inaugural Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards was unveiled at a cocktail dubbed The Trophy Tour at the Serena.

Ten Kenyan nominees were recognised at the event. Members of the film industry, government officials and media got a chance to view the replica trophy.

At the event attended by Information PS Bitange Ndemo, MultiChoice Regional Director for East Africa, Stephen Isaboke, stated, "MultiChoice recognises the importance of sustainable solutions for development in Africa and so as AfricaMagic, we have established strong relationships with stakeholders in the film and TV industry that has resulted in productions that are enjoyed across the continent."

Also present was the M-Net MD Biola Alabi said, "If you have ever sat down to write a screenplay, ever had to memorise lines, to design and produce original costumes, to direct emotionally difficult scenes, to seek elusive funding, to learn how to manage contracts, then maybe you too will understand why these awards are important."
