A 15-year-old boy will receive three strokes of the cane after he fondled the breasts of his neighbour's 12-year-old daughter. The teenager from Beatrice had denied the charge of indecent assault when his trial opened before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini on Friday last week.

He was found guilty after the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

The boy will receive the three strokes of caning at Harare Central Prisons in the presence of a medical doctor.

Prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa proved that on October 15 last year the minor was playing with the boy's sister at their residence.

The sister later went inside the house, leaving the girl with the teenager. The boy took advantage of his sister's absence and advanced towards the girl and fondled her breasts and went away.

The girl disclosed the matter to her teacher who informed her parents.

The parents reported the matter to the police leading to the boy's arrest.
