The above were the exciting words of Mr. Mark Osei Boakye of Tom Telco, in Kumasi, after he was announced the Glo Dealer of the Year 2012, winning in the process, a brand new 2013 Toyota Fortuner.
It was the highlight of a night of glitz, glamour and gratitude as Glo Mobile Ghana hosted all its dealers across the country at the first Glo Dealers' Appreciation and Awards Night last weekend in Accra.
From Ashanti Region to Central Region, Eastern region, Volta and Brong Ahafo all the dealers arrived in an expectant mood for the night. And they were not disappointed.
Pay Phone Solutions, Accra, emerged the second best Dealer of Glo Mobile Ghana in 2012. The elated General Manager of Pay Phone Solutions, Mr. Alex Ampomah sauntered to the podium to receive the ceremonial key of the brand new Toyota Camry the company won, with the award from Glo representatives which included the Head of Business, Glo Mobile Ghana, John Vasikaran, Globacom's Head of Post Paid, Kamaldeen Sonibare and Glo Mobile Ghana's Head of Commercial Business, Augustine Mamoro. Ten other dealers went home with laptops.
In a presentation to the dealers, tagged "The Journey So Far", Mamoro listed other benefits that will accrue to Glo dealers before the end of the year, starting with the Manchester United Dealer Promo whereby the best dealer between now and February 10 will enjoy an exclusive trip with the Manchester United players and officials from Manchester to Madrid for the Champions league match between Man United and Real Madrid. The announcement was greeted with a thunderous applause.
He also announced that before the end of the year, outstanding Glo dealers also stand the chance of winning brand new vehicles including Toyota Hiace, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris.
He said that between now and June, Glo Mobile Ghana will share extra incentives running into millions of Ghana cedis among its outstanding dealers. He described the incentives as the best in the industry, with the dealers nodding and chorusing in affirmation.
Mamoro said the company decided to celebrate the dealers because they made the network to achieve unprecedented feats in just 10 months. "Motivated by your support, we acquired one million subscribers in 45 days, 2 million customers in 155 days, erected 1300 Base Transceiver Stations and opened 30 world class customer care centres across Ghana.
We have the fastest internet service in Ghana which we will even further upgrade by April to be the best in Africa. We have the most extensive 3G coverage in Ghana," he said.
He listed some of the unique products and services which Glo rolled out at inception and made it the preferred choice of subscribers to include the Good Day Ghana with affordable tariffs for calls within and outside the network, free daily credits for calls, free midnight calls and other freebies. He promised that more would still come.
In his welcome remarks, the Head of Business, Glo Mobile Ghana described the dealers as "backbone of the business", and expressed the gratitude of the company's Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr (GCON) and the management and staff to the dealers for their support. He concluded his address by assuring the dealers of Glo Mobile Ghana's continued desire to strengthen the partnership for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
All the dealers departed with a sense of satisfaction, pledging to continue doing business with Glo. Glo had truly demonstrated that it truly cares for its dealers, as Mr. the John Vasikaran had described them in his welcome address.
Glo Ambassador, Pat Thomas ended the evening with a sweet medley of highlife favorites, followed by the actual presentation of the cars to the winners.
