Nigeria: Tambuwal Identifies Corruption, Poverty As Greatest Threats to National Development

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Saturday identified the twin malaise of corruption and poverty as the greatest threats to national development.

Mr. Tambuwal, who was speaking at a lecture on "Religion, Ethnicity and Corruption: Challenges of National Security" held at the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, said the hydra-headed menace of corruption is not only manifest in the public service, but also across all segments of the society, including schools, businesses and private homes.
