Egyptian-Indian Cooperation to Establish North Giza Power Plant

Electricity and Energy Minister Ahmed Imam and Indian Ambassador to Egypt Navdeep Suri signed on Sunday 3/2/2013 an agreement to implement one of the phases of North Giza power plant, worth EGP 110 million.

The project is one of the five-year plan projects to provide necessary electricity to the citizens, the minister said, adding that the project's total cost will hit around EGP 7 billion.

The World Bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the OPEC Fund for International Development, (OFID) will contribute to funding the project, the minister said.
