Kenya: DJ Kamjo's Car and Equipment Stolen

Late last year, comedian Kajairo and his crew were carjacked and robbed at gun point. Turntablist DJ Kamjo is now the latest victim of carjacking. The DJ lost his car, a silver Noah KBS 722Y, at Kasarani last Thursday. He lost his deejaying gear and sound equipment.

"My sister was driving the car when it was stolen. She had just stopped to pick up something from a friend's house when she was carjacked by four men armed with guns.

They then drove to Dandora where they dropped the deejaying equipment and later dropped her at Uthiru unhurt. They gave her Sh100 for bus fare," DJ Kamjo, who reported the carjacking to police both in Kasarani and Uthiru, told Word Is.

"I'm lucky to have insured my car and equipment and the insurers are positive about sorting me out if it's not found; fellow DJs should follow suit."
