Goethe Institute is screening Aguirre: The wrath of God, an original German version film with English subtitles by Werner Herzog.
The 93 minute movie is showing at the Ishyo theatre hall in Kacyiru at exactly 6:30pm today.
Peru 1560. Spanish Conquistadores in search of the legendary El Dorado, the land of gold. Pizarro's army has descended from the Andes in an endless convoy, hoping to reach the Amazon.
The hunger for power and wealth, and also pure madness, are said to have been the driving force behind the Spaniards' wish to conquer South America.
Against all opponents, Aguirre proclaims his vision of the El Dorado, which he will reign over as powerful and glorious ruler.
But even the last supporters from among his troop become victims of famine, illness and darts shot by Indians while Aguirre still dreams of founding a new dynasty together with his daughter.
