Traffic commandant Benson Kibui is the new Nairobi PPO, he takes over from Anthony Kibuchi who retired three months ago while Samuel Kimaru is the new traffic commandant. Moses Ombati will remain the deputy PPO in charge of Nairobi.

Deputy Head of police operations Okello Thwere is the chief of staff, a new position created in the office of the Inspector General. The changes are likely to be opposed by the National Police Service Commission since they are in charge of authorizing such changes and promotions.
