South Africa: Department of Trade and Industry Capacity Building Programme On Economic Development and Industrial Policy

The Department of Trade and Industry has, in partnership with the University of Witwatersrand launched a Capacity Building Programme in Economic Development and Industrial Policy on 7 February 2011.

The programme is designed, developed and delivered by Corporate Strategy and Industrial Development (CSID) Research programme, School of Economics and Business Sciences; and comprises of a Certificate in Economic Development and Policy and, its main objective is to build capacity for staff in government (National, Provincial, District and Local level), as well as NGOs and organised Labour responsible for the analysis, development, implementation and monitoring of economic and development policy.
