Kenya: Tea Farmers to Get Sh2.4 Million

GATUNGURU tea factory in Murang'a County will soon pay tea farmers Sh2.4 million as the final dividend. The factory board has recommended the payment to shareholders after to the company's positive performance.

Addressing the company's Annual General Meeting, the board chairman, Samuel Mugi, said the payment is the first and final divided for 'Class B' shareholders.

The pay is equivalent to Sh0.125 (12.5 cents) per share. "The tea business continues to be a promising venture and in order to sustain the good performance, the board has put in place strategies to ensure the future is secure for our shareholders," Mugi said.
