Kenya: Activists Propose Equal Tobacco Tax

Anti smoking activists are proposing that treasury tax all tobacco products equally to fight tobacco use in the next fiscal year.

Vincent Kimosop CEO International Institute for Legislative Affairs says Kenya has imposed high taxes on cigarettes but left out taxing poor quality tobacco. He says also says by equalizing taxes on all tobacco products KRA stands to raise the additional revenue they seek.
