Kenya: Disabled Kids Get Clothes
By Shaban Makokha, 5 February 2013
More than 200 disabled and destitute children from Butere at the weekend received clothes and bedding from a community-based organisation. Bushe CBO director Christine Makokha said many disabled children are hidden by their parents and guardians.
He asked the government to introduce awareness programmes to parents living with disabled children. He was speaking after Bushe made the donation at Manyala market. Makokha said many parents in the district have considered children born with disability as a burden.
