Liberia: City Expansion Underway in Bopolu

As part of efforts aimed at expanding the City of Bopolu for the forthcoming Independence Day Celebration which is expected to be jointly hosted by Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbapolu County, the General Manager of Renewal Liberia Incorporated, James Kim Folokulah says his company has begun the expansion of the city.

Mr. Folokulah told a team of reporters that the City of Bopolu has three principal streets, but through the expansion they intend to create new streets.

He explained that Renewal Liberia Incorporated was contracted to open four kilometers non-existing streets and four kilometers of existing streets.

Mr. Folokulah disclosed that work on the city expansion would last for a about three months. Folokulah indicated that during the creation of the streets, the company would also build drainages.

He assured that houses in the alley would not be demolished until the government can compensate the owners.
