Nigeria: Unilag to Build N3 Billion Library, Holds Maiden Investiture

Lagos — The Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Rahamon Bello, has said the university plans to build a new 15-floor library that befits the current and future needs of the institution, to be funded with the TETFUND of N3bn high impact intervention.

He also said the institution has commenced the upgrading of teaching infrastructure in the school, having rehabilitated classrooms with air-conditioners, comfortable seats and equipping same with interactive ITC boards and Internet access.

This he disclosed at the 2012 golden jubilee lecture/ investiture ceremony of the Vice Chancellor.

According to Bello, who is the 11th VC: "Teaching and research are the heart of what we do in the University of Lagos. Nothing else matters if we don't get this right. This is because our goal is to provide the highest quality of education and lead in conducting and disseminating important researches."

Conducting the maiden investiture, the Pro-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Gamaliel Onosode, said this was an opportunity for the VC to formally present his blue print to the school.
