Nigeria: Police Arraign Two Teenagers in Court for Theft

Osogbo — The Osun state Police Command on Tuesday arraigned 2 teenagers, Asimiyu Amusa and Sikiru Lawal in a Magistrate Court in Osogbo, capital of Osun State for allegedly stealing a wheelbarrow.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Adegoke Taiwo told the court that the wheelbarrow, valued at 20,000 belonging to Alhaji Azzez Sadiq was stolen by the accused at Ilobu town via Osogbo.

According to the charge sheet, the accused committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 390, (a), of the criminal code, Cap 34 Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty and their counsel Mr. Adeleke Idowu sought bail for his clients in liberal terms.

The presiding judge, Magistrate M A Lasisi granted the bail with a sum of 50, 0000 naira and 1 surety in like sum who must swear to an affidavit of merit.
