Kibosho — MARC NKWAME in Kibosho THE 100 international pilots who took part in the first ever paragliding flights from the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro have failed to make it to the ground due to weather problems.
Gushing winds and heavy clouds around the mountain rendered the crew aboard a service helicopter that had been hovering around the 'Roof of Africa' unable to spot the pilots yesterday, the day that the fliers were supposed to descend. "The glides are usually affected by the wind and if there is a strong current, it is possible that the pilots could have been swept off course," Tanzania National Parks
