Gambia: Man Docked for Obtaining Goods By False Pretence

One Seedy Muhammed Nassey, a native of Wellingara village was on Thursday arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Landing M. Sanneh.

The accused person was charged with obtaining goods by false pretence.

The particulars of the offence stated that on 30th October 2012, between the hours of 12:00pm to 13:00pm at Wellingara village in West Coast Region, the accused person took 175 crates of canned drinks from one Wurry Jallow, with the pretext that he would pay it within two weeks, being properties of one Aisha Hydara of Latrikunda, thereby committed an offence.

When the matter was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, I.O Ndow applied for a short adjournment in order to call his witness for the trial.

However, the accused was granted bail in the sum of D75, 000 with two Gambian sureties. The case adjourned.
