Zimbabwe: Vote Wisely, ZNA Urged

MEMBERS of the One Commando regiment have been urged to vote wisely in the forthcoming harmonised elections to safegaurd Zimbabwe from going back into the hands of imperialists. Outgoing Lieutenant-Colonel Hwami Vengesai said elections will be held this year, therefore members of the One Commando regiment should ensure their vote does not give back the country to the whites.

He said members of ZNA must always remember that Zimbabwe will never be a colony again.

Lt-Col Vengesai was speaking at a handover-takeover parade at One Commando barracks where he handed over the leadership of the regiment to incoming commander Lt-Col Donnie Washington Chidawanyika.

Lt-Col Vengesai said it was not easy working under an economy crippled by illegal sanctions imposed by the West. "The road from the day I tookover as commander to date was not easy. Your loyalty, dedication and resilience made us sail through during a time of illegal sanctions imposed on our country by Britain and its allies."
