Nigeria: Ogbulafor - FG Certified Projects Before Payments, Says Witness

A witness in the alleged fraud trial of former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Vincent Ogbulafor yesterday told an Abuja High Court that the Federal Government verified and certified the contentious projects before payments.

Ogbulafor, then Minister of Special Duties, was arraigned alongside Emeka Ebilah and Jude Nwokoro on a 17 counts charge in June, 2010 by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) over allegations of conspiracy and award of fictitious contracts valued at N104 million in 2001. Ebilah and Nwokoro were Secretary of the National Economic Intelligence Committee (NEIC) and Director Budget Implementation of Federal Ministry of Finance respectively.
