Somalia: President Mohamud Meets British PM David Cameron
6 February 2013
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday (February 4th) held talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron in London.
They discussed a range of issues including the current situation in Somalia and the British conference on Somalia in May which will be co-hosted by the British Prime Minsiter and President Mohamud. Earlier, the UK promised £3m in new aid to Somalia, some as support for Somalia's new government and federal parliament, the rest to help provide food for up to 60,000 malnourished children and mothers. This is in addition to the £63m in aid that Britain has pledged to Somalia.
