Angola: State Secretary Praises Contribution in Struggle for Freedom

Saurimo — The Secretary of State for Former Combatants and Motherland Veterans, Clemente Cunjuca, Monday highlighted the contribution of the people based in the country's eastern region during the national liberation struggle.

The official stressed the role in Dala district, eastern Lunda Sul province.

He spoke of the need to tell the story to the children, in order to build the welfare of the Nation.

According to him, unless we speak the truth to our children to know the cause of the war that lasted many years we will never build our nation and we will always have to repeat the same mistakes.

He also recognised the sacrifices endured by Angolans in fighting for national liberation and consequently the achievement of peace in Angola, calling for the need to preserve these deeds.

Finally, he assured the government commitment to improve living conditions for former combatants and veterans of motherlands, under the guidance of the President, José Eduardo dos Santos.
