Angola: Government Pledges to Improve Working Conditions for Teachers

Saurimo — The governor of the eastern Lunda Sul province, Candida Maria Guilherme Narciso, Tuesday in Saurimo guaranteed that the local government will continue to work toward improving living and working conditions for teaching staff in the province.

Candida Narciso, who spoke during the opening ceremony of the 2013 school year, stressed that the Angolan government is concerned about the academic background of the man, especially in this new era of globalization.

The governor urged the guardians to monitor the educational teaching process of their children in order to raise the motivation and improve their academic performance.

The province of Lunda Sul has 2,682 teachers.

Of this number, 1,568 for primary education, 880 to I cycle and 234 went to II cycle.

With the public tender held in the province, the number may increase by 657 teachers.
