Jon Dyer-Slade, a cricket coach, recently donated cricket equipment to The Gambia Cricket Association.

Jon is from Hampshire in the UK and is with the Trojan's Cricket Club.

Presently he is doing his cricket coaching career at ECB.

The same time last year he was here, he came to The Gambia with cricket equipment for the association and held coaching clinics.

This time around he is back with more cricket equipment which he donated to the association at a presentation ceremony held at the Gambia Cricket Association Secretariat Office.

Wilfred Remileku Riley, general secretary of the association, receiving the cricket equipment on behalf of the president of the association, thanked him for his support to them and to all those who helped in one way or another to see that the cricket equipment reach them.

Some of the equipment donated were cricket coaching materials, batting mat, set of batting pad, hard and soft balls, batting gloves, training cones, senior and junior bats, sets of plastic bat and stumps, set of cricket shirts, set of training bips, etc.

During his weeklong stay in the country, he helped in coaching the Gambian U-19 team and with the Methodist school in Brikama West Coast Region.

Though his stay was brief, he has done a lot with the boys, who really appreciate his voluntary service to the association.

To show their appreciation to him as well as to those who helped him to get the equipment the association presented to him and all the donors and certificates of appreciation.
