Western Sahara: German Delegation Meets With Saharawi NGOs in the Occupied Territories

A German delegation composed of Director for the Middle East and the Maghreb in the Foreign Ministry , Boris Ruge and the political advisor at the German Embassy in Rabat Christoph Blosen, met on Monday with delegations represent Saharawi NGOs in the occupied City of El Aaiun.

The German delegation met with representatives of the Sahrawi Association of Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations Committed by the Moroccan State (ASVDH) and members of the Collective of the Saharawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA).

According to the ASVDH representatives this visit by an important official is in line with international interest to solve the conflict in Western Sahara and the inclusion of the Federal Republic of Germany in the group of friends of these territories.

The meeting with CODESA which took one hour focused on the deteriorated situation of human rights in the occupied Western Sahara du to Moroccan daily violations and the need to create an international mechanism to protect and monitor human rights situation in occupied Western Sahara.
