Sudan: North Darfur Youth Group Endorses New Dawn Charter

El-Fasher — A youth group from El-Fasher, North Darfur, named 'Promise and Change Front' announced its support of the New Dawn Charter, endorsed by Sudanese rebel groups and opposition political parties.

The recently formed group, led by a certain Assad, declared its belief in the unity of armed movements and opposition political forces, when speaking to Radio Dabanga on Wednesday.

Assad said the aim of the organization is to take action against assassinations and prosecutions of students from Darfur by the Sudanese security services.

It also aims at taking action against the "systematic policy" of Khartoum to impoverish the people of Darfur.

He accused the government of Sudan of committing war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity in Darfur.

The program of the Promise and Change Front is concentrated on citizenship, civilians' rights and duties, justice, equality, democracy and freedom of religion, Assad defined to Radio Dabanga.
