Tanzanian Student Shines in U.S

A TANZANIAN student, Angela Gregory Kaijage, has been nominated for membership in the '2013 Who's Who' among American Universities and Colleges honour programme.

Ms Kaijage, who graduated in 2010 from the Barbro Johansson Model Girls Secondary School in Dar es Salaam, was also named one of the 30 outstanding students at Arkansas State University-Beebe (ASUB) in Beebe, Arkansas.

Over the past years, the 'Who's Who programme' has honoured and rewarded individual scholastic excellence of outstanding campus leaders. The prestigious award is one of the greatest honours given annually by the American academic community, according to the Coordinator of Testing Services and Academic Advisor at ASUB, Sheriece Robinson.

Ms Kaijage is currently pursuing a double major in Management and Marketing at ASUB. She is a member of the varsity's international club and she is also employed by the college as a Test Proctor. "Beyond working and going to class, she also teaches Spanish at one of the local churches she currently attends in America," Robinson said in a letter.

The programme was designed to recognize outstanding academic achievement and student leadership regardless of one's financial ability to participate.
