Mbeya — MBEYA-based entrepreneurs have been advised to adhere to strict financial discipline if they want to succeed and meaningfully contribute to the national economy.
The advice was given by Mbeya District Commissioner, Dr Norman Sigalla when closing a one week entrepreneurship capacity building workshop for Mbeya Region on Tuesday. The workshop under the Business Linkage Programme was coordinated by Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) in collaboration with the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
"Create the habit of good financial discipline for your success," he said, adding "that is a sure way for someone to do better in any business." He said that it was important for entrepreneurs to thrive because their contribution to the country's economy is significant and that the government values their activities which employs many people.
"You should believe in yourself to succeed there are a lot of giants out there who have had no formal education but they are doing better," he said. The TIC Southern Highland zone Manager, Mr Daudi Riganda, said the workshop aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship skills to Mbeya based business community so that they can improve their activities.
"We will continue to offer such training to the rest of regions in this zone," he said. Other regions in the zone are Ruvuma, Iringa, Katavi and Rukwa.
