The Kikuyu Council of Elders has cleared the air by saying they do not support the Pwani Initiative activities. The elders yesterday called on the government to investigate the group's activities as they are being funded by foreign countries.

"We feel it is important to make known our stand on the Republic of Pwani initiative. We are truly concerned about its activities and it is our hope that the relevant authorities will deal with this issue appropriately," said council's chairman Wachira Kiago.
