THE office of the new Mombasa county governor will be located at the building where the Vice President's office is located in Mombasa.

The building that is located opposite the Mombasa hospital is a few metres from the Mombasa town hall where the municipal council offices are located.

The Mombasa Town Clerk Tubman Otieno told The Star the council is prepared for the transition after the March 4 General Election. He said the council had to select the venue between Bima Tower in Mombasa central business district and the V-P's office building.

He said the town hall needs renovation while some offices previously held by the council officials will be occupied by the county clerk and other officials based on the demands of the new constitution.

Five aspirants are in the race for the governor' seat in Mombasa, including Ali Joho of ODM, Suleiman Shahbal of Wiper, Mtana Lewa Tendai who is an independent candidate,Ibrahim Hamis of RC and Abdhalla Mwaruwa of TNA.
