Chairman, Open Media Consulting, and former Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, will today, open the Lagos branch of the Indian CADD training centre.
The centre, which will serve as Asia's biggest Information Technology (IT) training franchise in Nigeria, will train people on Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
According to General Manager, CADD Centre, Vijay Baskarb, the launch would mark the beginning of a new dawn among Nigerian professionals.
He said, "We create quality tailor-made programmes that address the specific needs of the corporate houses. Our domain knowledge and subject experts can help corporate organisations identify the CAD, CAM, CAE and Project Management skill gaps that deter productivity and effectively address the training needs of employees."
"Our customised programmes are developed from a list of comprehensive programmes ranging from Master's to Foundation level. The programmes are designed to offer the highest level of quality and most up to date hands-on training, in an instructor-led environment."
Executive Director, Riverbank Technologies and Engineering Services Limited, Mr. Ayoola Jolayemi, the master franchise owners for CADD Centre in Nigeria and West Africa explained that the specialised training would contribute to the improvement in skilled workforce in various engineering fields.
"Basically, CADD Centre will facilitate training in the areas of design, testing, analysis and project planning management across various disciplines to improve productivity in and around the country. Some of the disciplines include oil and gas, power, telecoms and ICT among others," Jolayemi said.
He added, "Local and multi-national companies are continuously looking for qualified or multi-skilled manpower who are in tune with latest technology. Hence over 95 per cent of corporate send their staff on international trainings outside Nigeria to acquire new skills."
Expected at the event are leaders from the educational sector, international oil companies as well as regulatory bodies like Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
