The Kanilai Group Tnternational (KGI) FC of Bakau will represent the Kanifing Municipality in the Gambia Football Association (GFA) third division qualifiers after defeating Sukuta in the finals last week.
The team that were 3-1 winners over Sukuta United in the finals of the Kanifing Municipality qualifiers will now join representatives from Banjul and West Coast Region and the two relegated teams from last season's championship for the two teams that will qualify to the second tier of Gambian football.
KGI were knocked out at the initial stages of the competition last year but one year on will be the sole representative from the KM region after striker Ebrima Kujabi scored all three goals inWednesday's win.
With KGI now confirmed as representatives of KM and Bombada from the West Coast region, it now remains with the representative from Banjul for the five-team triangular tournament to kick start. Relegated Gunjur United and traditional qualifiers Starlight are the other two teams.
All five teams will play each other in a round robin format and the two teams that top the table will qualify to take part in the 2013 second division league.
