Liberia: 'The Battle Lines Are Drawn' - Broh Threatens

The acting mayor of the City of Monrovia, Madam Mary T. Broh has declared that the battle lines are drawn, and that she is poised to wage war against four lawmakers representing Montserrado County on the ticket of the main opposition political party, the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) in the House of Representatives.

Madam Broh is generally referred to as the "General". "General" Broh named the lawmakers as Representatives Acarous Gray, Thomas Fallah, Munah Pennoh and Solomon George, adding that: "The battle has started, the lines are drawn."

In a telephone interview Wednesday, 6 February 2013, on the populous Truth Breakfast Show (TBS) simulcast on Truth FM radio and Real TV, the acting mayor of the City of Monrovia accused the named lawmakers of waging negative campaign against her at the Legislature.

The acting mayor's assertions come on the heels of negative comments containing foul languages made against her, and attributed to one of the four lawmakers accused by her of waging negative campaign against her, Rep. Solomon George.

A Video postage on the social network YouTube captures Montserrado County District #7 Representative, Solomon George among other things of raining diatribes on Mayor Broh, and at the same time threatening to personally tie her up and beat the acting mayor of Monrovia.

Rep. George, according to the Video postage , made the threats while addressing a town hall meeting in the US recently. The video postage further capture the CDC lawmaker as saying that he would physically and publicly drag acting Mayor Broh if she attempts to demolish any makeshift structure within his electoral district.

The video displays the lawmaker indicating that he will order his constituents to publicly drag Madam Broh in public latrines and make sure she baths in human wastes and order other people to defecate on her. But acting Mayor Broh replied: "The lines are drawn now, the war of words has started, I will deal with them as well; the same way they have been dealing with me."

The acting Mayor of Liberia's capital, Monrovia, who did not definitively state what she would do, added: "I have been quiet for a while, but I will wage the same negative campaign [war] against Acarous Gray and Thomas Fallah."

"I will not back down, the lines are drawn, and we are going to wage that war of wars-watch me," the acting mayor asserted.

"The same way they abused me, you watch, Solomon George will go back to Sierra Leone, because he is not a Liberian citizen," she among others stated.

Meanwhile, up to press time, the four CDC lawmakers could not be reached for comments regarding "General" Broh's assertions.
