Egypt: Presidential Decree Turns National Quality Institute Into General Authority

A Presidential Decree was issued to turn the National Quality Institute to a general authority to be able to promote quality culture and better serve private and public production and service sectors, Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Hatem Saleh said.

The Minister said the authority, to be an independent legal personality affiliated to the Industry Ministry, will be tasked with promoting public awareness of the importance of complying with international quality criteria to develop the Egyptian product.

The new entity, to remain in service for three years, will hold one session every two months, the Minister said. Its decisions will be taken by the approval of the majority of the members, he added.
