Gambia: Man Arraigned for Negligent Driving

One Baboucarr Jallow was on Monday, February 4th 2013, arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Baboucarr Secka.

The accused is charged with the offence of rash and negligent act causing death, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of the offence stated that on or about 31st January 2013 along the Brikama highway, the accused drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 6692 E in a rash or negligent manner, which caused the death of one Kaddijatou Baldeh, thereby committed an offence.

When the charge was read to the accused person, he denied the allegation. The police prosecutor applied for an adjournment to enable him to send the file to the AG chambers for legal advice.

The case was adjourned to 25th February 2013.
