Gambia: People in Need of Help - 21-Year-Old Man Needs Urgent Assistance

Sanna Sambou, a 21-year-old man and a resident of Abuko Village is in need of assistance to go for overseas treatment.

According to a medical report issued from AfricMed Clinic, Sambou was seen and treated at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) in November 2008 diagnosed for Rheumatic Heart Disease and therefore recommended for overseas treatment.

The report however added that he had been ill since the age of seven, with complaints of joint pain, chest pains, fever, head ache, etc.

Speaking to this reporter in an interview, the patients' mother, Aja Kaddy Marena, revealed that her son has been suffering from this illness for 14 years now, and that for all these years, they have visited several hospitals in the country and also in Dakar, Senegal but the sickness persists.

She said her son is now taking a monthly injection at AfricMed Clinic to ease the pain.

Aja Kaddy Marenah is now appealing to the public for assistance.
