Somalia: Puntland Social Welfare Agency Gets New Leader

Garowe, Somalia — A new head for the Puntland Social Welfare Agency, Hussein Mohamed Mohamud, was selected by Presidential decree on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

Mr. Mohamud was selected to head the agency that was formed shortly after Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole was elected.

The agency provides social welfare to the disabled, widows of soldiers who have served in the Puntland defense forces, orphans and others eligible to receive welfare.

Mr. Mohamud who will take control of the agency's helm will be tasked to continue the agency's good work in Puntland.
