Nigeria: Gunmen Kill Pastor's Fiancée, Three Others

Unidentified gunmen operating in Agbarho town, Ughelli in Delta State, yesterday killed a pastor's fiancée and three others.

Eyewitness said the pastor and his fiancée were on their way to church when they ran into holdup along Orhokpokpo junction where the gunmen allegedly rained bullets on the woman, leaving the pastor with serious injuries.

Sources said the rampaging gunmen had penultimate Tuesday killed a couple at the same junction after sporadic shooting to scare away passersby.

LEADERSHIP checks revealed that horrendous activities of gunmen in the state in the recent times have created panic among residents.

However, ASP Famous Ajieh said most of the killings were as a result of communal clashes including political wrangling adding that they were poised to rid the state of criminals.

While saying that the police were on the trail of the assailants, he disclosed that three persons have been arrested for interrogation in connection with the gruesome murder.
