Angola: State's Attorney-General Office Indicts Leaders and Officials of Universal Church

Luanda — An indictment against the leaders and officials of the Universal Church of God's Kingdom is being analyzed by the country's Attorney General Office, following the 31st of December 2012 tragedy at Cidadela football stadium, in Luanda, which victimized dozens of that religious denomination's faithful, when they intended to attend a yearend special mass.

According to a press release from the Attorney General Office, which ANGOP had access to on Thursday, the lawsuit was opened after a conclusion of an inquiry made after a dispatch of 2 of January of 2013, from the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, according to what was preliminarily determined, on the subject.

The press release adds that the process is being analyzed by the National Department of Investigation and Prosecution (DNIAP) of the Attorney General Office.
