Kenya: What's the Role of the Deputy President?

The role of the incoming deputy president should be clearly defined to avoid conflict. Head of Public Service Francis Kimemia says presidential candidates and their running mates should agree on the roles and functions of the holders of that office.

The constitution says the Deputy president is the principal assistant of the president and shall be assigned his duties by the president.
