Kenya: Avril Bags Villain Role in M-Net Series

Singer Avril will be back on the silver screen again. This time round she is playing "a villain of sorts".

Avril who made her debut on screen as a songstress Miss B'Have in MTV's Shuga: Love Sex Money spoke to Word Is about her new role on Mnet's Noose of Gold.

The Kitu Moja star said, "I have been cast in season five and my character name is Corrine. She's a villain of sorts."

"I've actually been on set already to get a feel of the production and all is well so far. Corrine is a recurring role. Being on set again shooting feels so good. The crew and cast are awesome people. I'm so humbled to be directed by Benjamin Odiwour who has done amazing productions and even more humbled to be acting alongside Kenya's great actors and actresses such as Abel Amunga, Wanja Mworia, Ainea Ojiambo, Sarah Ndanu and Damaris Nthenya. They are all amazing people." A re-run of Noose of Gold is on Africa Magic Channel 154 on Sundays at 8.30pm, Season 4 will premiere on Africa Magic Entertainment 151 in March.

In other news, Avril will be releasing her new single, Hakuna Yule on Valentine's Day.
