South Africa: ANC Statement On Graduate Contribution
8 February 2013
The African National Congress (ANC) would like to clarify a matter relating to a contribution that was proposed by the ANC NEC Sub-Committee on Education and Health that recipients of State loans which have been converted to bursaries, should make a contribution by ploughing back to the bursary fund in order to benefit other needy students going forward.
We want to clarify that this was not a firm recommendation, safe-to-say that the Commission agreed that this recommendation needs to be considered in future. To this extent, no consideration has been made by the Sub-Committee or the ANC on this recommendation.
