Angola: Fire Department to Deploy 2,000 Men for Luanda Carnival

Luanda — Two thousand staff of the National Service of Civil Protection and Fire (SNPCB) have been placed on stand-by to provide security for the Luanda carnival on February 9-10-12.

This was announced by the SNPCB spokesperson, Faustino Camões Sebastião.

According to the official, the SNPCB staff will be arranged in groups for the three days.

He said the staff will be equipped with lifeboats, fire fighting vehicles, cisterns and ambulances, with the purpose to do their best and provide public security.

The official said special unit staff will also be deployed in coast strip areas like the Ilha do Cabo, Ramiros, Museu da Escravatura, Barra do Kwanza and Cacucao, including places authorised by the Provincial Department of Culture where high concentration of people is expected.
