Egypt: Marches in Monofeya Demand Early Presidential Elections

Protesters in Monofeya's Shebin al-Kom on Friday participated in marches to demand holding early presidential elections and amending disputed articles in the constitution.

A number of parties including al-Tagammu and al-Wafd took part in the marches.

The demonstrators marched through main streets and gathered at Monofeya's local municipality as protesters chanted slogans that call for early presidential elections.

Security forces intensified their presence in front of the local municipality and Shebin al-Kom's General Prison as well as several vital facilities to maintain security and order and secure the demonstrations.
