Rwanda: APR?s Cliff Targets Win Against CSK

APR Basketball Club head coach Cliff Owour has challenged his players to win the league game against Circle Sportif de Kigali on Sunday so as to boost their hopes of winning the title.

The battle of two former champions, who are separated by just one point will take place at the Kigali Institute of Education courts, and will be followed by the home side (KIE) taking on National University of Rwanda.

"We need to win the game if we're to be in contention for the title. CSK are doing well so it will be a difficult game for both teams but I really believe our chances," the former Kenyan international told Saturday Sport.

He added, "We are not far from the leading team (Espoir), actually they are just one point ahead. I am happy with our position on the table, and we know a win on Sunday will take us above them at the top."

Owour has led the army side to five league titles since 2005, with the last coming in 2010. The others came in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

He also guided the club to three Zone Five titles -2007 in Kigali, 2008 in Ethiopia and 2009 in Kampala as well as the Kenyatta Cup in Kisumu in 2009.
