Nigeria: MTN Donates Relief Materials to Plateau Flood Victims

Jos — Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated relief materials to victims of flood disaster in Plateau State.

The North Central Zonal Coordinator of NEMA Abdulsalam Muhammad said the MTN presented the relief materials to the headquarters of NEMA being the federal agency for disaster management and were taking the materials to Plateau State for onward distributions to the victims.

Muhammad said the items received include 550 mattresses, 500 pillows, 500 bed sheets, 500 blankets, 1,000 cartons of Indomie, 200 cooking pots, 200 Kerosine stove, 1,000 cartons of toilet soap and 500 cartons Detol which were shared to the four most affected Local Government Areas of Shendam, Wase, Jos North and Langtang North Local Government.

At the Rikkos camp in Jos North where hundreds of the victims queued to receive the materials, the camp chairman, Auwal Danladi, thanked the MTN and NEMA for the kind gesture and appealed to well meaning Nigerians to assist the victims.
