Zambia: CAF Fine Renard Over 'Sexy Remarks'

CAF has fined Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard US $10, 000 for claiming the continental body was happy Zambia was eliminated from the tournament because it did not play "sexy football" to represent the continent at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Renard has been warned not to repeat such statement in future. The Frenchman and the Zambian Football Association had apologised.

Renard had told the press that CAF was happy that Zambia was eliminated because they did not want the country to go further in the tournament.

After Zambia was eliminated from the tournament, Renard lashed out at CAF saying the continental body did not want Zambia to represent Africa at the World Confederations Cup which is a dress rehearsal for the World Cup.

Renard was fined a US $10, 000 suspended sentence for one year.
