Angola: AFDB Committed to Assist 600 Peasant Families in Calenga

Caála — The project consultant of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Sheikh Javed Ahmed, announced Thursday, in Huambo city, the extension for two more years of the support project to agricultural assistance to 600 peasant families in the commune of Calenga to improve the living quality of the populations.

This position was expressed by the bank official, during a visit to Bom Jesus/Calenga Project implemented in that district, within a five-year period, called "Calenga project" that will benefit the same number of peasant families.

The Bom Jesus/Calenga project had its impact on the agriculture, rehabilitation and expansion of health centers, residences for technicians, technical silting of peasant families, opening of channels for systems of water supply, dams for irrigation , excavation of tertiary roads, purchase of seeds and diverse fertilizers.
